Getting Ready for Baby!!
Waiting for a new baby is a very exciting time. Future parents know that everything is gonna change. They are happy but also thrilled with the responsibility. They will have less time for themselves but more love instead. They also have to think earlier about decorating the room for a newborn child. It’s a challenge and also a great fun!
Once you arrange the baby-room it will probably serve the child for a few first years of his living. And that’s why it’s worth it to do it right from the beginning. A safe room with nice look will give your child the possibility for a good development, and the will to play in this room in the future. As it comes to the rest of the house it should be very clean with a lot of free space (that’s a task for a future dad to make it clean just before the mummy with a baby appears in the house).
As it comes to the baby-room you have to decide at first which room to choose and change. Even a small room will be good enough but most important is to make it near the parent’s room. The small baby needs instant care. It cries a lot which often means that a certain need must be fulfilled. And it may be very tiring to run back and forward from the baby-room to the bedroom a few times at night. Sometimes parents even decide to sleep with their baby in one room but aren’t totally satisfied with that.
When it comes to small babies the quality of things that will appear in its room is most important. Don’t buy something only because it is cheap. It is better to use for example an old furniture – you don’t have to buy new table if the old one stands at the attic and looks like the new one. You don’t have to look for a new crib if your sister’s children grew up. With a few moves you can make those things look totally new! Paint and few nursery decorations will make a great change. Remember that friends and family will be very pleased to help you with decorating the room and before the baby shower you can register for things you would like to see in the room – some useful stuff from accessories for home or nice nursery accessories.
Nursery accessories are quite important. They give a finish look of the room, and when there is no possibility to totally rearrange exactly the room they bring an image of baby-room in a part of parents’ room. A nice looking baby room gives parents a happy feeling, such if they were coming into a new land, a place were walls are blue with white clouds, the little crib is standing against it, small nursery lamp is in the corner near white cupboard, the floor is covered with soft bears and cuddly blankets, and door are held with cute pig doorstop.
Decorating room for a baby is one of the nicest types of home decor. It is so pleasant to wander around shops with cute baby stuff, thinking about the little human we are buying it for, a human that will change our lives and home.
If you have a child on the way, you are surely filled with countless emotions. Your days are probably filled reading parenting books, attending classes, and buying baby clothes, among numerous other activities. You may also be thinking about decorating your new baby’s room-if this is your first child, there are probably quite a few things you need to buy. Here are a few things to consider before you run out to buy a crib, chest of draws, mobile, and armful of baby toys.
First, you should ensure that your baby’s crib is free of choking, falling and suffocation hazards. Make sure that the bars of the crib are sufficiently close together. Do not put any large pillows, fluffy blankets, or stuffed animals in the crib with your infant; these create a risk of suffocation. All hanging mobiles, as well as hanging curtain cords or strings, should be kept well out of your baby’s reach so as to avoid choking hazards. Make sure that none of the toys you buy for your child have small detachable parts that your baby may try to chew on or swallow. Once you have made sure that your baby’s crib is free of safety hazards, decorate and personalize it as much as you like! You can find baby cribs in all colors, designs, and sizes; make sure to pick one that you love!
You will most likely also want a chest of draws for your baby’s room to hold clothes, blankets, and toys, but make sure that your baby can’t tip it over once he or she is old enough to crawl around. Either secure the unit to the wall or make sure that the bottom drawer is out of your baby’s reach. Avoid placing tall floor lamps in the room, as these can fall over as well.
Cover all electrical outlets in your baby’s room with plastic tamper-resistant covers. Tie up any extra electrical cords from lamps, fans, and heaters so that your curious baby can’t get his or her hands (or teeth) on them. Make sure that lamps and electric heaters are kept at a safe distance from curtains, bedding, and other flammable fabrics in order to avoid fires. (Of course, you should always have smoke detectors installed, and you should be sure to test the batteries at least once a month.)
Keep a monitor in your baby’s room, but make sure it is kept out of the baby’s reach; place it on a shelf or on top of a chest of draws.
You may choose to purchase other furniture for your baby’s room for when he or she grows older. Some parents choose to go ahead and purchase a normal bed, nightstand, and desk for when their infant grows up.
Decorating your baby’s nursery should be fun! Take advantage of the opportunity to fix up a room of your home-choose wallpaper or a paint color that you love, and take your time choosing the perfect furniture for your baby.
