When I had my baby showers, my fiances mother threw one. (I missed that one because I was trying to have my contractions stopped) but that one was for his family only and friends. A few days before my daughter got out of the NICU my mother threw one strictly for her family. (My grandmother, Aunts, Great aunts and Cousins) it worked out good. I had never been to a baby shower, and I missed my very first.

I had three showers. It’s acceptable to attend any or all showers but you only need to get one gift.

well i had two, one with my fam and friends and the other with my hubbys fam,
i dont think you should take another present, you already gave her one, you already honored her new baby, just go to celebrate and have fun

my parents are divorced and I didn’t want to have the awkwardness of having them all at the same place. So I had one with each family. I ended up having a third one too with my ex-step father and his family!

You do not have to give another gift or even attend! It is odd that her friend is giving her another shower after she just attended this unless she means it for like close friends and close family memebers that didnt attend already! I know that my mom is throwing me a shower and then my husbands mom is going to throw one seperate a month later because she will not be able to attend anything for the whole month of july So i guess it just depends. But no you only have to go to one!

No, you don’t owe her a gift at all. You don’t even HAVE to get her the first gift, but it’s just nice to give one. And no, you don’t have to attend any showers, not even a first one, but the first one is nice if you could attend(which you did).

I have to question why this close friend who attended the first one..the REAL reason behind her throwing a second one…

I personally wouldn’t if you have already went to one and bought a gift!!! I had 3 showers my job, my mother and mother in law all had one for me and none of the same people where there!

I had 2 baby showers..one for my close friends and my mom n sister in law which was very small and a HUGE one like 100 pepole of my bfs family/friends that his mom threw..his family and my family dont communicate often so thats why nobody was at both showers though exccept for moi!

If you do not want to buy another gift then you do not have to. You can still go to the other one though.

I had 2 baby showers for my first son. My first one was with all my family and friends.

My 2nd one was a surprise one thrown by my co-workers. Some people attended both of them and got me gifts at both of them.

Even if it’s something small- she will appreciate anything But if you do not want to get another gift, don’t feel bad. You dont have to!
